Death is a fickle word

No one wants to hear it
But we know its pain
Such a harsh word
For the passing of someone in pain
We all see it coming
But it still catches us off guard
The lose of a loved one
The realization of helplessness
For after so long the battle is too much
A special man has passed
We will never know the pain he felt
We will only know the pain of seeing him go
Never to have another hug
He's in a better place
But we can't help in wishing he was still here
He is no longer in pain
But we can't help in wishing he was still here
Humans are such a selfish race
But who can blame us
We know who we love
And who we want around us
And who we wish could live forever
But we must let go
Even if it hurts
No one lasts forever
But someday we'll all see each other again
So farewell for now until we meet again
We love you and miss you

My husband's father passed away last night at 11:45pm. He suffered from Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer. He will be greatly missed by a lot of a people. He brought smiles to everyone around him. I only knew him for 8 months but feel as if I had known him forever. We love him and know he is with his brother and father now talking about the old days.
